My new cosy crime novel Curtain Call at the Seaview Hotel is released in paperback today!

It's  is a fun, cosy crime / murder mystery set in Scarborough and published by Headline.

It stars an acting troupe who arrive at Helen Dexter’s Seaview Hotel to rehearse a play they hope will save a much-loved local theatre. But just when Helen thinks things can’t get any worse after one of her guests is murdered, the hotel inspector arrives!  Amazon link: http://bit.ly/CurtainCallAtTheSeaviewHotel

Publication day for Curtain Call at the Seaview Hotel, new cosy crime set in Scarborough

Today's the day! It's publication day for my second cosy crime set in Scarborough, Curtain Call at the Seaview Hotel.

It's out today in ebook, hardback and audiobook and published by Headline. (Paperback is out in August).

What's it about?

Curtain Call at the Seaview Hotel stars an acting troupe who arrive at Helen Dexter’s Seaview Hotel to rehearse a play they hope will save a much-loved local theatre. There's a lot riding on this play. However, the leading lady is a diva, the playwright is highly strung and tension in the troupe is high. When one of the actors is found dead on the beach, landlady Helen Dexter and her rescue greyhound Suki set out to solve the crime. But just when Helen thinks things can’t get any worse after one of her guests is murdered, the hotel inspector arrives!

Why not give it a whirl?

Curtain Call at the Seaview Hotel previewed in The Bookseller magazine

Very happy to see my second fun, cosy crime novel set in Scarborough, Curtain Call at the Seaview Hotel  previewed in this week's Bookseller magazine.

It is published by Headline out in May 2021 in hardback, ebook and audiobook and in August in paperback.  You can order it here.

The blurb for the book in the Bookseller doesn't say a lot, as it's limited by space. But let me tell you, murder mystery fans, that it's a rollercoaster of a ride. The stage is set for murder at Helen Dexter's Seaview Hotel in Scarborough when a troupe of actors arrive and take over the hotel for two weeks. The leading lady is a diva, the local theatre is reliant on their play to survive, and there's a lot at stake. So when one of the cast is murdered, the spotlight falls once again on Helen Dexter, her greyhound Suki and the staff at the Seaview Hotel.

The novel is the second in The Seaview Hotel series, but you can read these books in any order as standalone books too. I hope you really enjoy it.

Here's how YOU can star as a character in my next cosy crime - and support a great cause

This is me (in the stripes) and my lifelong friend Lynn with her assistance dogs. Lynn and I grew up next door to each other and have known each other all of our lives. We've lived through good perms and bad, and while other friends have come and gone, we've stuck together. In order words, she can't get rid of me!

Well, as I grew up with Lynn, I know how vital her assistance dogs are to her as she suffers from multiple disabilities. Not only does Lynn have two assistance dogs of her own but she also helps train other assistance dogs for disabled people.

I've now teamed up with Lynn and Dog A.I.D. (Assistance in Disability) for you to win your name as a character in my next cosy crime novel.  All entries will go into a hat and the winner will be chosen by one of my friend Lynn's assistance dogs when the competition ends in September.

And here's a fun video Lynn made of me telling you all about the competition, with the help of her assistance dogs Nancy and Bella. It's a short video so do stay for the bloopers at the end!

Curtain up on cover reveal for new Scarborough cosy crime

I'm over the moon to be able to share the cover of my second cosy crime - Curtain Call at the Seaview Hotel.

It's number two of three books set in Scarborough and starring B&B Landlady Helen Dexter and her rescue greyhound, Suki.

Curtain Call at the Seaview Hotel is about a group of actors who stay at the Seaview Hotel. However, one of them ends up dead and her fellow actors fall under suspicion. But who's telling the truth - and who's acting their way out to save their skins?

I hope you really enjoy my series of cosy crimes, they are so much fun to write.
