Rainy days and Mondays

It's been rainy, windy, sleety and cold. It's also been a Monday. All those things added together makes for a very grumpy me.

The weather was so bad that I didn't want to go  out of the building at lunchtime but needed to stock up on womanly products (chocolate, hair lacquer, the usual stuff). So with my scarf tightly wrapped and my umbrella up, out I plodded to the shops,

And do you know, even though it was rainy, windy, sleety and cold, it was invigorating too. And I came back to the office with a runny, ruddy red nose.

Stormy Weather

I love a good thunderstorm, me. Living in London I don't see many of them but as these words are being blogged, thunder rages outside of the window with raindrops as big as two-pence bits hurtling down to the garden and soaking into the lawn.

I'll go outside once it's stopped and breathe in that gorgeous metallic charge in the air that thunderstorms always leave.

July in the garden

The lawn’s as lush as it’s ever been and the water butt is full. Because of all the rain this summer, everything looks fab in the garden but without sunlight on the flowers, it doesn’t really bring out the best. But still, it's looking gorgeous, if not a tad wet.
