Froth and flora

It doesn't get much prettier than this; our garden at the height of spring. Summer's great, and the borders fill out with foliage but it's spring when the colour really shines through. Frothy blossom, vibrant tulips, buttery daffodils and a lawn that is so fresh and green it's almost fluroescent.

Garden in April

One of the joys (insert ironic humph and grrr) of our London house not having sold yet is that we're able to enjoy our garden at its best. Today with the sun shining and the flowers blooming, it was too nice not to get the camera out. And see that rhubarb there in the left at the back on the second photo? We're picking that and having some for dessert tomorrow night.

Autumn in the garden

Some wonderful pictures taken today of the turning of the leaves in our garden as autumn sets in.

Our garden's looking wonderful right now and therefore I make no apology for showing it off again in all its glory.

Springtime in the garden

Ok, so it's not strictly a gardening picture as all these plants are in pots on an outside windowsill but it looks lovely, nonetheless. I did tell the pansies to smile but they wanted to sulk with an arrogant air.

Snowdrops in London

A short drive away from the hustle and bustle of north London and this is what you get. A sign from the car-park pointing to Alpine Grove and millions of snowdrops. It's been a lovely day for a lovely walk.

November in the garden

Planted over 100 bulbs, raked the leaves for compost, chased the squirrels and filled up the bird feeder. Glorious autumn days like this are few and far between and although the garden's dying down for the winter, there's bags of colour still.

Sweet Peas

One of the many joys of having a garden is the scent of freshly picked flowers floating around the house. Another joy is digging up and eating my very own potatoes. Picture not available due to having eaten them all.

Naming Flora

It's January, it's cold and it's wet. There's not much to do in the garden this time of year except to wait for green shoots to pop out of the ground. Here's a couple of pics from the garden taken today. The one above shows our bird box surrounded by Clematis Freckles and the second shows crocus around the bottom of the apple tree.
