April in the garden

Spring in the garden is my favourite time of year. Everything's so fluffy and frilly and it takes on a life that isn't repeated at any other time of the year. Summer's good in the garden for sitting out and eating or having a beer in the sunshine of a Saturday afternoon. But spring in the garden is magic. Kew Gardens was also out in full spring force this week too.

Springtime in the garden

Ok, so it's not strictly a gardening picture as all these plants are in pots on an outside windowsill but it looks lovely, nonetheless. I did tell the pansies to smile but they wanted to sulk with an arrogant air.

March in the garden

Spring in the garden is when it all kicks off. It's also when the first cut flowers like daffodils and tulips can be brought into the house to sit in a vase on the mantel. This weekend I'm getting some chitting potatotes (that's a technical term, not a swear word).
