Pink Slice! Pink Slice! Pink Slice! - My Writing Week

This week I've continued to make great progress writing my next historical saga, The Bakery Girls.  I aim to finish the first draft by June.

Also this week I received the proof copy of my next Scarborough cosy crime and I'm working my way through final adjustments before it goes to be printed.  It's Music to Die For at the Seaview Hotel and stars an 80s band who reunite for the gig of a lifetime, but one of the band ends up dead before the gig takes place.

The Bakery Girls made its way to The Sunderland Echo, and made front page news! I've teamed up with local baker Mullers Bakery in Sunderland. They're baking a special batch of pink slice cake to send to London for my publisher to include it on the cover of the book. The photoshoot takes place this month and the book is released next year.  You can read the full story here.

The Sunderland Echo featured me again as the talk at Lumley Castle this weekend has SOLD OUT. Another date has been added for June.  All details here.

Also this week I spent a few hours at Fru Fru and Friends in Grangetown, Sunderland. They sell my books and have a wonderful shop and cafe. I signed books, chatted to customers and had a really great time. I love doing community events like these where I meet my readers.

And Scarborough library posted this picture of me, which was taken back in January when I was working in the library, researching the history of cakes and baking for The Bakery Girls.  I'm going to be doing library talks in Scarborough in June.  Check my website for details.

I crafted another episode of my weekly soap opera Riverside for The People's Friend magazine. I've been writing Riverside weekly since 2016.
