Castles, Pink Slice, Cream Scones and Scarborough - My Writing Week

This week I've continued to make good progress on my historical novel The Bakery Girls.  Even better news is that a special batch of PINK SLICE cake is on its way from Sunderland to London to star in the cover shoot for the book. I can't thank Mullers Swiss Bakers of Sunderland enough for all their support.

My Scarborough cosy crimes have inspired a reader to visit Scarborough. This happens a lot and I love it when readers tell me that they're going to my happy place!

Speaking of my happy place, The Headlands Hotel in Scarborough not only sell my books in their bar but advertise them to all their guests too! The books are also for sale in The Seaside Hideaway in Scarborough too, both great hotels.

This week I gave an author talk at the amazing Lumley Castle. The talk included a cream tea and was a sold out event. The next event is in June and tickets are now on sale at Lumley Castle website. Below are some pictures from the day, it was wonderful.

I've donated large print copies of Deadly Dancing at the Seaview Hotel to three local community libraries - Fulwell, Back on the Map in Hendon and Kayll Road, Pallion.

And this coming weekend I'll be signing and selling books at the 17nineteen Spring Fayre. Always a great day out.

There's a new competition to win a signed book with a bar of chocolate. Enter here and good luck.

I crafted another episode of my weekly soap opera Riverside for The People's Friend magazine. I've been writing Riverside weekly since 2016.
