Loving every minute of my life - my writing week

There's a lot of catch up on in this week's writing week as I've been away on holiday for almost two weeks. However, lots of things have been happening in my writing world even though I was away, and it's been crazy business since I returned.... so here we go!
My author newsletter for October 2023 was sent out with a 99p offer and a competition. You can read it all here.

I was featured and interviewed in the first ever edition of Key Worker magazine. See page 70 here.

My Scarborough cosy crime Foul Play at the Seaview Hotel was featured in New Writing North's autumn bookshelf.  Thank you to them so much!

Stockton on Tees libraries gave me this wonderful display. It's to promote my talk at Yarm Library on Saturday 7 October at 2.15pm. All welcome, do come!

I was interviewed on BBC Radio Newcastle about my new Scarborough cosy crime Foul Play at the Seaview Hotel.

My book was given a fantastic review from the prestigious Crime Fiction Lover website. You can read it all here.

Foul Play at the Seaview Hotel was also featured in The Bookseller magazine in the paperback previews for December.

And at Sunderland beer festival organised by CAMRA (Campaign for Real Ale) there were five copies of my cosy crime Murder at the Seaview Hotel won by the first five new members who signed up on the day!

I'm delighted to say that I WON the Hastings Book Festival short story prize and couldn't be happier!

I had a full page article about Foul Play at the Seaview Hotel published in the Crime Writers' Association magazine.

You can listen to my interview with BBC Tees chatting about writing, books, Elvis impersonators and my talk at Yarm Library this Saturday at 2pm - all welcome! Click on the link below and my bit starts at 39mins and 55secs https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/p0gdrzy4
I had a great day at Ryhope Community Centre were I was being filmed by the guys from Canvas HQ in Durham ahead of the Wear Businesswomen Awards next week. I've been nominated, and am a finalist, in the "Inspiring Others" category.

I was interviewed on Facebook Live by the Pumping Marvellous charity. This took place in The Bound bookshop in Whitley Bay and you can watch the full interview here.

I was interviewed by bestselling author Elaine Everest and you can read it all on her website.

Yesterday I was guest of honour at Northumberland WI annual literary lunch. I was in tears before I started talking... each lunch table was named after one of my books. In tears at the end too when they told me "You're the best speaker we've ever had."

My Scarborough cosy crime Murder at the Seaview Hotel was spotted in an Italian bookshop with its brand new Italian, art deco cover. How wonderful!

And I was a quiz question in the Teesside Gazette!
I crafted another episode of my weekly soap opera Riverside for The People's Friend magazine. I've been writing Riverside weekly since 2016 and you can find out all about it here.

I also kept the Coronation Street Blog ticking over with news and editing the team of 16 bloggers.
