Spotted this advertising poster for Magnum Tempation ice-cream in a tube station yesterday. You'd think, wouldn't you, that someone, someone, would have spotted the rogue apostrophe before the copy went live and huge on a tube station wall?

apostrophe catastrophes are becoming so common that I fear they will become accepted use. Even professional signs and advertisements are doing it and you'd think sign writing companies and advertising agencies would know better. But nooooo. It drives me spare!
Tut tut tut! As an English teacher I disapprove soooo much. Still "it's" is a common mistake that many people make ... letting it slip through onto public adverts is no excuse though!
I'm the proofreader for the agency responsible. I was away on holiday when this went out. The whole episode reinforces the idea that my job is important.
Don't say that I loved this poster. At least I get a chuckle whenever I get on the tube at the moment... Thank you for posting this by the way; I couldn't find it anywhere else.
