Stranger on a train
Got on a train from Waterloo this week on a day off from work and my fella nudged my arm. "Oi, it's him, over there," he said. I looked and sure enough, it was him. He was in his mid fifties, a really famous actor from TV and film, British, plays baddies and coppers, has a lived in face, really famous, oh you know who I mean, don't you? We knew him but we couldn't name him. We couldn't even remember what he'd been in, just that he was, like, really, really famous. He looked like a cross between Pete Postlethwaite and Jim Broadbent. Any ideas who he might have been?

He does look familiar, but don't know who he is.
Was he in the movie stranger on a train? LOL
For a minute there I thought you were going to say you'd met Pete Postlethwaite - he's a top bloke and a great actor. He's one guy I'd like to meet.
Could it have been Christopher Fairbank who played Moxey in Auf Weidersehen, Pet?
Tom Bell?
Thanks for your suggestions chaps. It deffo wasn't Christopher Fairbanks as I'd recognise him instantly and I googled Tom Bell but it wasn't him either. He was much more rugged in the face than that :-)
It was probably just a bloke who looked like a cross between Pete Postlethwaite and Jim Broadbent.
Don't bother to thank me Nora
Kaz, you're probably right but I'm sure it was that really famous fella off the telly. Oooh, you know who I mean!!
It couldn't have been Tom Bell. He died last year!
No, definitely wasn't him then. This one was alive.
Oh whoops! Thanks Steve!
