Down the tubes

“Where are we?” my fella asked when our train got stuck in a tunnel this week on our way to work on the tube.

We were deep, deep underground in a mess of tracks, wires and heat, buried beneath crumbling sewers, the remains of dead rats, sitting in a lifeless carriage breathing in other people’s dust, hair, snot, fear.

“Just outside of Kings Cross,” I replied.

Absolutely terrifying.
Glad you weren't alone.

That picture looks like the old Angel station. A single narrow platform with the north & south bound tracks on either side. Now that was terrifying, especially if it got crowded.

Ooooh now I hope you didn't have to get out of the train and walk along the tunnel, then get confronted by psychopathic monsters...there was a film recently about that - "Creep". Not that good but pretty unnerving...

No, we were only stuck for a couple of minutes. Glad you liked the tale though.
