Rolling my sleeves up, getting on with it - my writing week

This week I've been getting on with my work. There's no easy way to write a novel. You have to roll your sleeves up, sit down and crack on.  This month's newsletter from Sunderland Antiquarian Society comes complete with my Christmas ad on the back cover, courtesy of my talented friend Jo Blakeley.   Overjoyed to see my new saga 'The Toffee Factory Girls' previewed in New Fiction for February 2024 in this week's  The Bookseller magazine . Wonderful!   Today (Friday 10 November) I'm giving a fundraising talk for Frogmore Paper Mill which was devastated by fire. Bargains, Books, Fundraising and Fayres - my writing week

T his week I'm making good progress writing the first draft of The Secrets of The Toffee Factory Girls. I popped into Sunderland Waterstones this week to sign a fresh batch of my Sunderland historical sagas and my Scarborough crazy golf cosy crime. If you're after signed books, they're here! I was featured in my local paper The Sunderland Echo with details of the book launch in Scarborough for my crazy golf cosy crime Foul Play at the Seaview Hotel.  You can read it all here . And I was featured in the My Local News for Apsley and surrounding area in Hertfordshire. I'm giving a talk to help raise funds for Frogmore Paper Mill, devastated by fire.
