Scarborough, it's magic

Spent the weekend in one of my most favourite places in Britain. It hailstoned and the sun shone. The fish and chips were fab and the frisbee won on the seafront bingo provided Sunday morning fun and games on the beach.

Ashamed to say I've never been but anywhere that sells fab fish and chips can quite happily go onto my "Places To Visit" list...

Sounded like fun though

It's better than fun, it's good for the soul, is Scarborough. Go now! Now!

I grew up in Yorkshire from the age of 7 and we did make a few trips to Scarborough from what I remember. I like Peasholme Park! Haven't been for a long, long time though. Out of all the east coast resorts I think I prefer Whitby more though - a bit less tacky and more unspoilt. Sorry darling!!

I know what you mean OC, but Scarborough has something for everyone. The North Bay's a bit more p-o-s-h (shush!) and Peasholm Park has just had a big make over too.

I love Scarborough too, fond memories of some great ' weekends away' at the Palm Court Hotel.

One of my dreams is to have one of those little white fisherman's cottages like in 'The Mousehole Cat', anywhere in the area would do, although I too am very fond of Whitby.

I'm saving my pocket money.

Reading your post reminds me that my children have never had a 99.
That's child neglect is't it?
