Shortlist, Shetland, Front Page News - my writing week

This week I've worked on the synopsis for my next historical novel, The Glassmaker's Girl. It'll be published by Headline in 2028 and I'm really excited about it.  Next step is plotting it all out over the coming weeks before starting to write it in the new year.

Elsewhere this week, my cosy crimes made it all the way up to Shetland! I'm over the moon!

I gave a talk at Northallerton library, which I really enjoyed and I hope everyone who attended enjoyed it too.  Thank you all for coming.

While in Northallerton, I was overjoyed to see my Scarborough cosy crime Music To Die For at the Seaview Hotel, on the shelf in hardback in Waterstones in town.

I love receiving posts like these! From a happy, relaxed reader on holiday in the sun, with one of my cosy crimes!

My upcoming saga The Bakery Girl is available to pre-order now at just £3.99.  Order it here.

And I'm delighted to say that the audiobook of my saga Celebrations at the Toffee Factory has been shortlisted in the Listening Books Awards 2026.

My local paper The Sunderland Echo picked up on the story which you can read here.

And it even made front page news!

The story was also picked up in the Sunderland Magazine, which you can read here.

I crafted another episode of my weekly soap opera Riverside for The People's Friend magazine. I've been writing Riverside weekly since 2016.
