My first crush ever might have been Donny Osmond. But the first proper grown-up crush I had was aimed firmly in the direction of Wolfie Smith, Marxist revolutionary of the Tooting Popular Front, in 1977. Not a lot of people know that.
Tooting Broadway is actually not too far from where I live. I haven't seen Wolfie around much though. I remember the original series when I was growing up. The Mum, played by Hilda Braid (latterly in Eastenders) who always used to call Wolfie "Foxey". Bless.
I do think that Madonna on the cover of her American Life album looked as though she were modelling the Wolfie look. Just check her out in that beret.

Power To The People!
You're not alone. My wife assures me that she too had the hots for Wolfie.
Personally I prefer his Captian Pelhew in Hornblower. Oo-er?
