How much would you bend over for?
Anyway, it's got me wondering how much money it is acceptable to stop and bend over and pick up off the ground if you spot it lying there, unwanted, fallen out of someone's pocket?

I won't bother with coppers these days, probably not even for 5 or 10 cent pieces but probably for a 25 cent or higher.
Yeeeeeeeeeahhhhh... I've been known to walk past 5p. 10p would depend how much of a hurry I was in and how agile I was feeling. 20p would be a definite grab.
Which on reflection is a bit mad. I mean, what can you get for 20p? It's not even enough for a bag of crisps.

However I suggest you move to a wealthier part of the capital where the streets are paved with gold and pound coins are there for the taking
I once stooped to pick up 22 cents -- 2 dimes and 2 pennies (U.S.) -- only to learn that the coins had been super-glued to the cement.
Of course, I walked on ... pretending I'd never even tried to pick 'em up.
We don't have coppers here in OZ any more but I would bend over and pick up a "goldie" which is a $1 or $2 coin.
I'm ashamed to say 1p! I bent down (oooer madam) to pick up a stray penny coin just the other day...but then I usually think of the old maxim: "See a penny, pick it up, and all day long, you'll have good luck." I am a little supersitious in that respect.
I think any spare 'ground cash' round here has been well and truly shaken away, but I agree with Barry - money is money wherever you find it and it soon adds up!
If I saw a farthing, I think I would pick it up!
I also believe in the old saying - "See a penny, pick it up, and all day long, you'll have good luck." so a few weeks back I started picking up every cent (euro) I saw and saving it - I now have 2.83 and will buy a Lotto ticket when I get to 3euro - here's hoping xx

When I was at school, a friend of mine had the knack for seeing dropped coins and she'd always pocket them. We walked round the school together every break time and found pounds-worth of money every day. No-one else noticed it, or thought it was worth it!
And for the record, it's "See a PIN and pick it up - all day long you'll have good luck!" People mostly get that wrong. I always say "See a penny, pick it up - all day long, you'll have a penny (unless you spend it, or loose it)"
Doesn't really have the same ring, does it? =)
