Ladybirds

I've just found out what the collective noun for ladybirds is. Being a huge fan of the little critters* and of collective nouns, I had no choice but to blog it. It's a loveliness of ladybirds. Honestly, it is.

* See here, here and here.

Another good collective noun is a smuck of jellyfish which sounds like a name of an 80s band.

  1. Or a shmuck of politicians. That should be in the dictionary.

  2. *snork* at what steve said. I was going to have a laugh about the smuck of jellyfish, wholly appropriate and then i read his remark and i'm in shudders trying not to laugh out loud here at my desk.
